Beet pulplucerne (alfalfa) and clover are all high in calcium which may reduce magnesium absorption.

Similarly, calcium supplementsdi-cal-phos (DCP) and most Vitamin & Mineral supplements that contain calcium may inhibit the amount of magnesium that can be absorbed by the horse.”
