Don’t Stop Until

Just read, this morning, a ‘training’ article that stated, “Don’t stop til you see a sign of submission.” and then watched some videos by a local trainer that seems to follow that mantra. I find the idea very sad and very troubling.

I don’t want a ‘friend’ to ‘submit’ to my every demand. I don’t want a PARTNER that does the same. And I CERTAINLY don’t want to whip a horse repeatedly, over and over again (as I watched in some videos) ‘into submission’ (Until the horse said “Sorry”).

I keep on posting this here and there from Xenophon but it is SO true …

“For what the horse does under compulsion, as Simon also observes, is done without understanding; and there is no beauty in it either, any more than if one should whip and spur a dancer.”

SUBMISSION IS NOT A THING OF BEAUTY. It is a state of control; no choice; force.

It is not beautiful.

In fact, I find it ugly.
