As I was browsing through blogs, I ran across this.

Dancing With God

Adapted from a poem originally written by Rowland Croucher

(Think of “Dancing with Horses”, too! … So much of God’s ‘Guidance’ can be and is so apropos to honest, heart to heart Horsemanship!)

When you meditate on the word Guidance,
You see “dance” at the end of the word.
Allowing God to show you His will is a lot like dancing.
When both dancers try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn’t flow with the music,
and feels awkward and clumsy.

When one person relinquishes control
and lets the other lead,
both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back,
or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.
It’s as if two become one, moving beautifully together.

Anyone can dance, but to dance well takes surrender,
willingness, and attentiveness from one person,
and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

If you draw your eyes back to the word Guidance.
You see “G”: for God, followed by “u” and “I”
God, you, and I dance.

My prayer for you is that you hear the music God is playing…
your own special song God wrote just for you!
May you abide in God, as He abides in you.
Dance together, trusting Him to lead.

You are special to Him and He desires nothing less
than for you to dance
through each and every season of your life.

Dance my friend! Dance!
I consider it joy to dance beside you!
